We are a professional research-based organisation, headquartered in Edinburgh and working throughout Scotland and internationally.

Our researchers, teaching staff and consultants are experts in their field. Our research specialisms include international development, economics, ecology, biodiversity, sustainability, business management, green accounting, governance, strategic development and business psychology.

Jan is a mathematician - he manages the staff team and has an overview of all Nexus programs. He has worked as a professor of Higher Education both in the UK and overseas. He has a special interest in higher education and social justice. Jan was the founding member of Nexus Europe and continues as Executive Director. He splits his time between Vilnius, Lithuania and Edinburgh, UK.
David manages the Research Team and program. He is an experienced higher education lecturer and currently works with Glasgow University. He is an anthropologist and specialises in education issues, including equality and diversity in the education sector. David@NexusScotland.org
Sue manages the teaching staff and international education program. She also teaches on the Women for Leadership program. Sue is an economist specialising in social and ecological economics, with a focus on gender equality, development and education. She is also a certified accountant with a particular interest in the third sector.
Alex is an economist and mathematician, specialising in econometrics and environmental land management. He currently works with Glasgow University and as a consultant in the public sector.
Jon is an ecological economist and expert on rewilding.
Lukas is a psychologist and joined the Nexus International Research Foundation in 2018. He specialises in international development and has a particular interest in social and environmental justice.
Sami works in higher education as an associate lecturer and research assistant. She is supporting our research on gender equity and education.
Stephen is a social scientist specialising in public policy and development.
Keith is an expert on rural development and sustainability. He works in the public sector in an advisory role and supports our research in the highlands and islands.
Sharon is a social scientist specialising in psychology and public engagement. She supports our social policy research projects.
Rob is a former teacher and business psychologist. He is an expert in community development and works with the third sector.
Maria is a business psychologist and specialises in community development. She has a particular interest in urban living and city regeneration.
